The double elimination tournament will start August 2nd and will go Tuesdays and Thursdays until we are done.  We will do 2 games on each field with the field 1 games starting at 5:45 to try and avoid the potentially dangerous conditions the sun creates as it gets later.  Players must have played 4 games to be eligible for the tournament and the Saturday Charity tournament games do count towards a player’s eligibility for the tournament.  Seeding ties are broken by h2h results.  I have noticed the courtesy runner rule has been abused at times in recent weeks.  Please make sure you get approval from the opposing coach as soon as you get injured preferably before the game starts.  This rule is not to be used to get people that are healthy off the base paths for a faster runner.  If an opposing coach feels this is being abused they can deny the courtesy runner so please do this in good faith.  Home and Away will be decided on a coin flip before each game.

2011 July 16th Saturday Tournament

Tournament is Double Elimination.  $100/team must be paid before your 1st game.  Any players who have not filled out waivers need to turn them in before the first game. Church Waiver

NSA Bat Rules Apply
1 HR Per Team, Per Inning. Any HR after the 1st in an inning is an Out.
Sportsmanship is expected.
Softballs will be provided.
There will be NO Courtesy Runner unless a player has cause (injury). In that case, the last out may courtesy run.
Teams may Re-Sub any Player ONE time.
Run Rules are 20 after 3, 15 after 4, 12 after 5, and 10 after 6.
Champion Team will receive T-Shirts and Trophy. Trophy’s for 2nd and 3rd place as well.

HR DERBY:
The HR Derby will be held on Field 2 from 2pm-4pm(or whenever all competitors have had a chance to compete). There will still be games going on Field 1 during the derby, however, everyone will have a chance to participate that chooses to do so.
Rules of Derby:
Each Player choosing to participate will get 6 outs. Every swing of the bat that does not result in a HR is considered an out. Each player participating will provide their own pitcher and Ball(s) to Hit.
After everyone participating has hit, the two highest scores will compete in a championship round to decide the winner.
Cost is $10 to participate in the HR Derby.
Winner will receive half of all money earned by Derby and a T-shirt.
(Example: If 10 players compete in Derby….10pl X $10 = $100. Winner would take home $50 and a T-Shirt.)

Congrats to Lima Moose for winning the Saturday Tournament after losing to Lima Baptist Temple in the first game of the final round but coming back to win 13-11 in the 2nd game.  Thanks to all the teams who participated in the tournament.

The schedule has changed for July 26th, if you have printed out a schedule please look at that day as your field and time of game may have changed as I need to work in one make-up game.

The Saturday tournament this year will be held on July 16th.  It will be a double elimination bracket with the cost being $100/team.  We will have umpires provided this year and the goal is to have 8-10 teams.  All proceeds will be going to Allen County Karaoke.  Please let me know at 419-230-0241 or npohlman@gmail.com if you want to reserve a spot.  Church teams will be offered first and we will fill in the remaining spots with outside teams.
